چکیده

Winter rye, with all its advantages (adaptability, stress resistance, increased productivity), cannot compete other grain crops, and the reason is quality to a greater extent. Solution of issue possible when cultivating rye varieties low content water-soluble pentosans in grain. In Western Siberia, winter has traditionally been considered leading crop, which efficiently uses environmental resources more productive comparison wheat triticale. order increase efficiency, low-pentosan variety ‘Bereginya’ was involved breeding study Omsk Agricultural Research Center. As an initial form, this used develop new ‘Irtyshskaya 2’. The purpose current work characterize according number valuable traits. carried out on experimental plots laboratory for crop 2020–2022. estimation 2’ identified several standard ‘Irina’. productive. Its excess over 0.36 t/ha (with average productivity 6.34 t/ha). characterized by best severity quantitative traits (‘grain size’ ‘head productivity’) indicators unit’, ‘falling number’). select there proposed head as main trait, strong correlation trait ‘grain weight per head’ (r = 0.731–0.889). 2022 sent State Variety Testing recommended use West Siberian East regions.

Cold-active winter rye glucanases with ice-binding capacity.

Extracellular pathogenesis-related proteins, including glucanases, are expressed at cold temperatures in winter rye (Secale cereale) and display antifreeze activity. We have characterized recombinant cold-induced glucanases from winter rye to further examine their roles and contributions to cold tolerance. Both basic beta-1,3-glucanases and an acidic beta-1,3;1,4-glucanase were expressed in Esc...

Ethylene induces antifreeze activity in winter rye leaves.

Antifreeze activity is induced by cold temperatures in winter rye (Secale cereale) leaves. The activity arises from six antifreeze proteins that accumulate in the apoplast of winter rye leaves during cold acclimation. The individual antifreeze proteins are similar to pathogenesis-related proteins, including glucanases, chitinases, and thaumatin-like proteins. The objective of this study was to ...

Antifreeze proteins in winter rye leaves form oligomeric complexes

Antifreeze proteins (AFPs) similar to three pathogenesis-related proteins, a glucanase-like protein (GLP), a chitinase-like protein (CLP), and a thaumatin-like protein (TLP), accumulate during cold acclimation in winter rye (Secale cereale) leaves, where they are thought to modify the growth of intercellular ice during freezing. The objective of this study was to characterize the rye AFPs in th...

The phenology of winter rye in Poland: an analysis of long-term experimental data

The study of the phenology of crops, although quite popular, has limitations, mainly because of frequent changes to crop varieties and management practices. Here, we present data on the phenology and yield of winter rye in western Poland collected between 1957 and 2012 from a long-term field experiment. Data were examined for trends through time and compared to climatological factors using regr...
